about molly harrell
“Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
―Elliott Erwitt
I am known as a location portrait photographer with a few simple goals; make the subject comfortable in front of the camera, and capture an image that portrays who the subject is, in an honest manner.
As an event photographer, I strive to capture those magical moments, that portray the success of the gathering.
My love of photography began in college as a staff photographer for the Daily Beacon at The University of Tennessee. However, I decided to major in Advertising. After several years in the advertising business, working for such companies as Turner Broadcasting and WCSC-TV, Charleston, SC, I decided to make the leap, and begin my journey towards a career in photography.
I graduated, with honors, from The Art Institute of Atlanta, with a Photographic Imaging degree. I moved back to South Carolina, where I happily reside in the city of Columbia. I live on Main St, and have a studio at Tapp's Arts Center.
My client list includes Skirt! Magazine, The South Carolina Wildlife Federation, Omega Holistic Studies (New York), Conservation Voters of South Carolina, The Nickelodeon Theater, Watson Tate Savory Architects, Wallanius Willihelmsen, One Columbia, Famously Hot New Year, Columbia Development Corporation, Capitol City Club, SC Arts Commission, WREN, Emerge SC, and The Tapp's Arts Center.
In addition to my commercial photography, I enjoy exhibiting personal work, in art shows. My additional interests include a vast array of outdoor adventures: travel, camping in the Florida Keys and competitive sailing, to name a few. Photography, for me, is both a passion and an adventure. I always look forward to the next assignment.
I hope you enjoy my website and stay in touch through Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
